Hi! I am Shimi Zhou, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). I received my Ph.D. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). My research broadly explores the intersection of information technology, data science, and social inclusion. I am particularly interested in how technology can shape equitable participation in academia, organizations, and society.
My work leverages methods from social network analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to study collaboration, knowledge production, and leadership in digital and organizational contexts. I am also interested in emerging areas such as gender equity in academic and professional networks, thought leadership in AI, and the role of data justice in shaping inclusive technologies.
